BPA-FREE THERMAL PAPERS

BPA-FREE THERMAL PAPERS

Did you know that the European Commission ban on the industrial chemical Bisphenol A (BPA) for use in thermal papers will take effect on 2 January 2020?

No companies that operate within the European Union can sell thermal paper products that contain the chemical after January 2020.

BACKGROUND:
In December 2016, the European Commission decided to restrict BPA in thermal paper due to its toxicity and potentially harmful effect on humans and the environment. The ban will take effect in 2020 after manufacturers, importers and users of thermal paper have been given time to phase it out and find an alternative.
